Bio

Nathan Towne is a gifted musician, composer, and teacher whose passion for music was nurtured from a young age. Born in 1990 into a musical family, Nathan's talents were honed as he learned to play piano from his mother and drums from his father. However, it wasn't until he was 8 years old, when a foreign exchange student from Japan introduced him to the guitar, that Nathan truly found his calling.
In 2002, Nathan's father took him to see his guitar hero, Joe Satriani, perform at the Ventura Theatre. The concert was a defining moment for Nathan and sparked an obsession with the guitar that has stayed with him to this day. By 2009, Nathan had already developed a reputation in guitar circles and met Tony Harmon, a performing student at the 1978 Christopher Parkening Master Class. Together, Nathan and Tony composed, recorded, and performed guitar duets all over the United States, including a performance at La Guitarra California Festival where they opened for guitar legend Pepe Romero.
In 2017, Nathan joined Blind Melon as a bassist and background vocalist, touring, writing, and recording with the band. When he's not on tour, Nathan can be found performing as the house musician at the Terrace Inn & 1911 Restaurant in Petoskey, Michigan. In 2018, Nathan became the artist in residence at the Cheboygan Opera House where he performs and teaches private music lessons. Known for his ability to deliver stunning performances on a wide array of instruments, both live and in the studio, Nathan is a true musical talent.
